Wherever you visit in Argentina , your first port of call is bound to be the capital, Buenos Aires . How can you resist staying a couple of days in this most fascinating of cities before entering the relatively unknown interior. The home of thousands of Italian immigrants over a century ago have given this capital city its vibrant culture of Tango, a never-to-forget experience of dance, music and passion which is reflected in its architecture. This is the city of Eva Peron - there is nowhere like it in the world!
This is not the only dance culture however. Visit the north and you will see gaucho dancing – a completely distinctive dance from two centuries ago in which dancers whirl around in the traditional costumes of that period looking for all the world like pirates from a bygone age.
Also in the north, the rock formations of the lower Andes give rise to an array of colour in the mountains which change from sunrise to sunset. This is the land where earth meets sky and mysticism permeates the landscape, revealing the imprints of dinosaurs from pre-history.
